The actor says being a good actor is his biggest achievement and he never focussed on his looks. The actor joined the industry when he was 20-years-old and has the looks to die for, but he maintains his point by saying that looks are temporary.

"I only worked on my craft throughout my journey. I never wanted people to know me as just 'a good looking guy' or just as someone with a nice body. I feel looks are very temporary. He made his acting debut with Suvreen Guggal - Topper Of The Year and says though he was not much aware of how everything works in the industry, especially facing the camera, he made sure he learnt everything possible from everyone on the set.

"When I got my first break in Suvreen Guggal - Topper Of The Year, I was a normal Delhi boy, straight out of college. I did an audition and a look test and got selected for the role on my very first day in Mumbai. I didn't know anything about acting or the industry then but I learnt a lot from everyone, even from the spot boy. There is so much that you can learn from all the people on the set. So my career started with that and it was a superhit show. I got selected for 'Ek Veer Ki Ardaas... Veera' even before 'Suvreen Guggal.. ' ended. My father had insisted on me to take up the role. And though my first show was popular, '... Veera' was watched by the masses in India and even abroad too," he said. "When you start your career by playing a romantic hero, people always see you like that. But if you do a challenging role like '...Veera' it boosts your career and people start looking at you differently. After my second show a lot of things changed and people started taking me seriously as an actor. That's when I, as an actor, understood the know-how of acting and it has been wonderful since then," Shivin concluded.
